Title*: Naturdenkmäler Tirol
Abstract*: Nach dem Tiroler Naturschutzgesetz 2005 - TNSchG 2005 - kann die Bezirksverwaltungsbehörde Naturgebilde, deren Erhaltung wegen ihrer Seltenheit, Eigenart oder Schönheit, wegen ihrer wissenschaftlichen, geschichtlichen oder kulturellen Bedeutung oder wegen des besonderen Gepräges, das sie dem Landschaftsbild verleihen, im öffentlichen Interesse gelegen ist, mit Bescheid zu Naturdenkmälern erklären. Naturgebilde in diesem Sinne sind beispielsweise alte oder seltene Bäume, Baum- oder Gehölzgruppen, besondere Pflanzenvorkommen, Quellen, Wasserläufe, Wasserfälle, Tümpel, Seen, Moore, Felsbildungen, Gletscherspuren, Mineralien- oder Fossilienvorkommen, erdgeschichtliche Aufschlüsse und charakteristische Bodenformen, Schluchten und Klammen. Im Gegensatz zur Unterschutzstellung von Landschafts- oder Naturschutzgebieten, die als Gebietsschutz größere Flächen umfassen und verbinden, handelt es sich bei Naturdenkmälern meist um Schutz von Einzelerscheinungen in der Landschaft. Die Naturdenkmäler sind dem INSPIRE Datenthema Schutzgebiete (Annex I) zugeordnet.
